Panel Discussion
International Collaboration and Global Higher Education

Clark Egnor

Clark Egnor
Center Director for International Programs
Marshall University

As we look to the future of higher education, we see a world in which international competencies are a priority for our graduates, colleges and universities across the world are strengthening their academic profiles and internationalizing their campuses, and U.S. colleges and universities are developing international partnerships and opening campuses across the globe.  This session will look at different types of international collaboration and the role that consortia can play in working with their members to internationalize their campuses and curricula, be it through recruiting international students, developing partnerships with institutions in other countries, supporting travel programs for students and faculty members, or identifying and fostering international research collaborations. Panelists will address collaborative international programs with which they have worked, focusing on best practices, lessons learned and their perspectives on the future.  At this session, attendees are invited to share their initiatives and questions; discussion may turn possible inter-consortial international initiatives.
