Greetings! Here we are in 2017 – I hope everyone had some down time over the holidays; time to relax, reflect and recharge. Your colleagues who volunteer on the ACL board and committees continue their efforts to provide you with professional development and support that will assist your efforts in furthering collaborations across higher education.
Some quick highlights of what’s coming up this year:
ACL Salary Survey
If you are a consortium CEO, be on the lookout for ACL’s Salary Survey link in the next few days. We are gathering data this month to reissue the survey, last conducted in 2011. This survey has provided valuable data to consortium leaders not only for their own salaries and benefits, but also for those of their senior staff. It’s an important service to the consortium community, but is only as good as the data collected. The survey will be sent to the director of ACL member and non-member consortia and collaborative organizations. Please respond when you get the link. Final results will be shared with all who respond and will be available to the ACL membership as a benefit of membership. To see the 2011 survey, visit the ACL Salary Survey page.
2017 Summer Institute for Consortium and Collaboration Leaders
Mark your calendars: June 25-28, 2017, Claremont, California
Registration is now open! Claremont University Consortium will host ACL’s 2017 Summer Institute from June 25 -28, 2017 in beautiful Claremont, California. The Institute is now in its seventh year. If you are interested in attending or know of others who would benefit from this experience, please encourage them to register. In the past five years over 120 people have participated in the Summer Institute, giving it high praise for its thoughtful and practical curriculum. The deadline for registration is April 7, 2017.
ACL member fee $2250 (includes 3 hotel nights)
ACL non-member fee $2650 (includes 3 hotel nights)
Through the generosity of a grant from the Teagle Foundation we have a limited number of scholarships available for up to half of the fees for the Institute. The funds will be used to support participants from consortia or collaborations less than two years old or to support new directors of existing consortia or collaborations with operating budgets of $150,000 or less. Each consortium or collaborative enterprise is limited to applying for one scholarship. In the event we receive more applicants than we can serve, priority will be given to consortia and collaborations that serve or include minority-serving institutions. Information and application are available in the Institute page. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 24, 2017.
